Stay in the Strip District
Stay in the Strip District at one of our two great hotels or stay nearby in downtown Pittsburgh, on the Northside, or find alternative accommodations below. Many hotels in the greater Pittsburgh area offer guest shuttles to the Strip so no matter where you’re staying make sure to inquire about transportation to the Strip District.
The Hampton Inn and Suites is across Smallman Street from the Senator John Heinz History Center and Sports Museum which is the Smithsonian’s home in Pittsburgh. It is adjacent to the Allegheny River and across 11th Street from the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Hampton Inn is a short walk from the stadiums on the Northside and an even closer walk to all the great shops and restaurants that make the Strip District such a wonderful destination.
The Hampton Inn has an indoor pool, conference and meeting center, a large breakfast space, and beautiful accommodations.
Homewood Suites are an extended stay hotel that will be located at 14th and Smallman Streets next to Lidia’s (owned by Celebrity Chef Lidia Bastianich). This is a brand new hotel opened in November 2015. Located on the edge of the historic Strip District shopping district and featuring views of the Allegheny Riverfront this incredible new hotel is a few minutes walk from downtown, the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, and the northside as well.
There are several downtown hotels and other nearby accommodations that are within a short walk of the Strip District.
The Priory Hotel, located on Pittsburgh’s Northside in the historic Deutschtown neighborhood is only a short walk or drive from the Strip District. The Priory is a 42 room boutique hotel that features modern accommodations with a European feel and a personal touch. The Priory is an award winning and beautiful hotel with an amazing history and a wonderful staff. They offer a shuttle service to and from the Strip District and are extremely knowledgeable about our neighborhood.
The Courtyard by Marriott is located on Penn Ave just beyond the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Shuttle service to the Strip is available and their staff are very knowledgeable about the Strip District. The Courtyard is a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking to take advantage of both the wonderful shops and restaurants of the Strip and the great performances you’ll find in the Cultural District.
The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh is just outside of the Strip District in downtown Pittsburgh. Located at 1000 Penn Ave the Strip is just a short walk down Penn Ave. If you’re in town for a convention either here or at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center be sure to take advantage of the proximity to the Strip and come visit our great neighborhood.
The Westin, along with all of the rest of the hotels listed here are all great places to stay if you’re looking to visit the Strip District as well as catch a game at Heinz Field, PNC Park, Consol Energy Center, or Highmark Stadium. They’re all also great locations to stay if you’re attending a conference, visiting one of our universities, coming to see a concert or visit the cultural district, or just want to see what all the buzz about Pittsburgh is for.
